Dr. Martin Uman recently delivered the invited conference keynote speech at the 2018 ILDC/ILMC (the combined 25th International Lightning Detection Conference & 7th International Lightning Meteorology Conference) in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, March 12-15. In a surprise to him, the ever-humble Dr. Uman was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award:

Your dedication, extensive scientific research, and educational instruction have inspired students and colleagues to achieve a better understanding of lightning electromagnetics, as well as enhanced lightning detection and protection around the world.
